Building an Ontology Based on Folksonomy: An attempt to represent knowledge embedded in filmed materials

چکیده
Ontology, usually, build upon Taxonomy, which is considered as the backbone of it. The problem is that Taxonomy entirely depends on controlled vocabulary which has many drawbacks, particularly in the environments that depend on social networking, which shaped and formed generally from contribution of nun-specialist communities. On the other side, Folksonomy found as a way to deal with free tagging systems. Although it has a many weaknesses, it could be very Useful in dealing with the requirements of the beneficiaries within those social networking environments. This article discusses part of recent work on developing an ontology that can be used to represent the knowledge inherent in filmed materials. The ontology is intended to be used as the semantic basis for a retrieval system. The focus of the paper is on the method used to develop the ontology. The method is influenced by success that has been achieved in developing Folksonomies.

This paper is an attempt to develop a new ontology for knowledge management (KM) technologies, determining the relationships between these technologies and classification of them. The study applies NOY methodology. Protégé software and OWL language are used for building the ontology. The presented ontology is evaluated with abbreviation and consistency criteria and knowledge retrieval of KM tec...
متن کاملQuery Architecture Expansion in Web Using Fuzzy Multi Domain Ontology
Due to the increasing web, there are many challenges to establish a general framework for data mining and retrieving structured data from the Web. Creating an ontology is a step towards solving this problem. The ontology raises the main entity and the concept of any data in data mining. In this paper, we tried to propose a method for applying the "meaning" of the search system, But the problem ...
متن کاملDynamic Tagging for Enterprise Knowledge Sharing and Representation
The development of Web 2.0 technology provides an easy way for people to transfer and share knowledge. As a collaborative tagging tool, folksonomy is an efficient indexing method in Web 2.0 environments. After analyzing the pros and cons of current knowledge management systems, this research proposes a dynamic Tagging system that combines folksonomy technologies with other approaches including ...
متن کاملBuilding Folk UMLS: An Approach to Finding Meaning of Folk Terms in Medical Domain
As a medical domain knowledge base, the Unified Medical Language System (UMLS) focuses on formal and professional medical terms; online health forums contain user-generated “folk terms”, which can be used to complement the UMLS vocabulary. In this paper, we propose an approach to detecting folk terms from online discussions and matching their meanings to UMLS concepts. This approach makes conne...
متن کاملAn Executive Approach Based On the Production of Fuzzy Ontology Using the Semantic Web Rule Language Method (SWRL)
Today, the need to deal with ambiguous information in semantic web languages is increasing. Ontology is an important part of the W3C standards for the semantic web, used to define a conceptual standard vocabulary for the exchange of data between systems, the provision of reusable databases, and the facilitation of collaboration across multiple systems. However, classical ontology is not enough ...
